Sausage Bread — Sonjia McKelvey

Bob explained that grating the cheese and frying the sausage (his duties) are critical steps for producing this great breakfast.

Creamy White Chili

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough (Sonjia makes her own dough)
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
  • 3 to 4 ounces hot pepper cheese – shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella – shredded
  • 1 egg – slightly beaten

Roll bread on a lightly floured board into a 9X13 rectangle. Fry sausage, drain, and crumble. Lay sausage down the center of dough. Top with the cheese and parsley. (May substitute different cheeses) Drizzle most of egg over filling. Bring ends up first, then middle & lap over. Pressing to seal tight. Brush loaf with remaining egg. Bake on slightly greased baking sheet (or on Silpat) at 350 degrees for 30 – 40 minutes until nicely browned.
